Drone 1.0 don't trigger/update Gitlab status flags

Hello,
After moving from Drone 0.8 to 1.0 I’ve noticed that the new version do not trigger/update the Gitlab external CI status flag in the commit/MR view. Of course everything else on the Drone side works, but this change completely breaks what was left from the Drone+Gitlab integration. Is this an intentional change, something that should work or a to-do feature?

Apparently 1.0 is using a deprecated API to set the status. See https://github.com/drone/go-scm/issues/6
